Description: STS-49 Mission Specialist (MS) Kathryn C. Thornton (dashed stripe) works a strut into a node ball at the top of the Assembly of Station by Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Methods (ASEM) structure being constructed in Endeavour's, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105's, payload bay (PLB). The scene is back-dropped against scattered clouds and open ocean areas on Earth. ASEM hardware is mounted on the multipurpose experiment support structure (MPESS) in the shadowy PLB below.
