Santa Clara, N.M., December 16, 2013 -- Deputy Tribal Coordinating Officer Michael Chavarria is charged with the restoration project of the ancient tribal lands of the Pueblo. The Pueblo Tribe's sacred grounds were damaged after recent fires scorched the grounds stripping the vital absorptive vegetation, which creates a powerful runoff that devastates their ancient ruins, hunting and fishing grounds and their Native Americans spiritual grounds.
