Service members participating in Khaan Quest 2016 get some time off for sightseeing nd shopping May 29 at the Hunnu Mall during a morale, welfare and recreation trip to Ulaanbaatar, the nation’s capital city. The tour allowed service members to explore the city and engage in the local Mongolian culture. During the visit, the participants shopped in outlet stores and malls, visited museums, and sampled local foods. Khaan Quest 2016 is an annual, multinational peacekeeping operations exercise hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces, co-sponsored by U.S. Pacific Command, and supported by U.S. Army Pacific and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific. Khaan Quest, in its 14th iteration, is the capstone exercise for this year’s Global Peace Operations Initiative program.
