Sgt. 1st Class Jaime Rios of Chicago, 3rd Platoon Sergeant with the 66th Engineer Company out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, shares Stryker vehicle dismounting movements with Japanese Ground Self Defense Force members Sunday at Aibano Training Area near Imazu City, Japan. Defense Force Members watched Soldiers train, trained with them, and then moved on their own in response to improvised explosive devices located on a patrol. The training was part of Orient Shield 12, a bilateral training exercise aimed to increase interoperability and increase the capabilities necessary to maintain peace and security in the Pacific region.
