Simulated artillery rounds explode near Romanian army battle positions during a live-fire demonstration for Romanian media on June 13, 2019, as part of Operation Saber Guardian 19, in Cincu, Romania. The training exercise was a joint demonstration between the Romanian army and U.S. Army to demonstrate interoperability and efficiency in planning and execution during operations. Saber Guardian 19 is an exercise co-led by Romanian Land Forces and U.S. Army Europe, taking place from June 3-24, to enhance joint and combined interoperability across a variety of mission sets between Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, the U.S. NATO allies and Partnership for Peace Nations.
