They are walking to the pick-up zone, wearing their backpacks with bedrolls, M85 Kevlar-lined helmets, and carrying M16A2 rifles and M249 squad automatic weapons (SAW), so they can be flown to Cap-Haitien. They have just completed their mission of patrolling LeBorgne, Haiti, and surrounding smaller towns, to deter violence and maintain a safe and secure environment, in support of Operation Uphold Democracy
