Spc. Paul Flores and Spc. Nicholas Pledge, infantrymen assigned to Blue Platoon, Bravo Troop, 1st Squadron, 38th Cavalry Regiment, 525th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, set up the Military Mobile Vehicle and Cargo Inspection System at the Weesh border crossing point at the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, May 12. The MMVAC helps soldiers see the contents of closed vehicles and shipping containers, helping detect weapons, contraband and explosives. Flores, a Los Angeles native and Pledge, an Iowa City, Iowa, native are deployed from Fort Bragg, N.C.
