Staff Sgt. Spencer Forbes, section leader, with Company A., Wounded Warrior Battalion-East based in Camp Lejuene, N.C., scoots into an offensive position shortly after a serve from the opposing team during a sitting volleyball open practice session as part of the 2012 Marine Corps Trials. Forbes is an individual mobilization augment who was activated on to active duty orders December 2009. Forbes previous reserve unit, prior to mobilization, was 4th Maintenance Battalion. The Marine Corps Trials is a Wounded Warrior Regiment hosted event in which approximately 300 wounded, ill and injured Marines compete for a spot on the 50-athlete, All-Marine team roster. The selected athletes will go on to compete in the Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, April 30 – May 6. The Games are a competition between all branches of service for wounded, ill and injured service members.
