State Department veteran blazes POLAD trail for Guard
Summary
Dr. John Finney, center, a senior State Department veteran who blazed the trail for foreign policy advisors at the National Guard Bureau, introduces Air Force Gen. Craig McKinley, the chief of the National Guard Bureau, to Farah Pandith, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton's special representative to Muslim communities at an Aug. 18, 2010, event at Quarters One, the chief's official residence at Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, D.C., to mark the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Fourteen of the 62 countries in the National Guard's State Partnership Program are Muslim countries or have Muslim majorities.
