Description: Photographic documentation of the Simplified Aid for Extravehicular Activity Rescue (SAFER) being tested by Payload Commander Mark Lee (red stripe on suit) on the Space Shuttle Discovery's payload bay during STS-64. The SAFER, a small and self-contained Extravehicular Activity (EVA) crew member mobility unit, was created to allow astronauts greater movement and a rescue device during EVA.
