Taking advantage of the lightweight yet ridge structure of the TEMPER (Tent Extendable Modular Personnel) tent, a handful of 355th AEG (Air Expeditionary Group) personnel pick it up and move it into position to stake it down. Several hundred tents are in place for military members deployed to Masirah Air Base, Oman in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 at the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon, President George W. Bush initiated Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), fighting terrorism abroad
