Team Air Force Material Command (AFMC) begin the first day of competition in dismounted operations competition during Air Force Defender Challenge 2018 Sept. 11, 2018 at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis, Texas. During the challenge Airmen are placed into a four-person team and move as quickly as possible across a 3-6 mile distance while using teamwork to overcome physical and mental barriers. Fourteen Security Forces teams from U.S. Air Force major commands, United Kingdom and Germany test their skills in realistic weapons scenarios, simulated dismounted operations and grueling combat endurance events as part of Defender Challenge.
