Bradley Duncan, 336th Aircraft Maintenance Unit avionics technicians from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C., perform maintenance on an F-15 Strike Eagle aircraft May 4 at Hill AFB, Utah. More than 40 combat aircraft participated in the U.S. Air Force air-to-ground weapons evaluation known as Combat Hammer including: F-15Es from Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C.; A-10s from Davis-Monthan AFB, N.M.; F-16s from Hill AFB and Tuscon Air National Guard Base, Arizona; B-1s from Dyess AFB, Texas; and B-52s from Minot AFB, N.D. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
