Summary

The 24th annual Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., commemorates the service of veterans of World War II with a half marathon and full marathon, March 17, 2013. The high desert terrain presents a challenge to people from all across the country. Teams of five compete for the marathon and half-marathon event. All five members must remain within 100 feet of each other at all times during the race, and cross the finish line together. A tracking device is used to monitor individual and team movements during the event. This team is just 100 meters from the finish line.
