The blended battlefield has created a blurred perception
Summary
The blended battlefield has created a blurred perception of the role of the Ready, Modern, Guard. National Guard Bureau's senior enlisted adviser, Chief Master Sergeant Mitchell O. Brush, accepts a gift of welcome from the Georgia Adjutant General, Jim Butterworth, to kick off Brush's three-day tour of the Georgia National Guard. Brush spent 72-hours doing what he loves most; connecting with the Citizen-Warriors of the state and thanking them for unselfishly wearing the uniform. Brush believes in promoting the future of America's Guard and spoke candidly with senior leaders about community and encouragement. "We are more than 39-days," a year,," Brush said. "We are that hand in an emergency and when we pull our citizens to safety they don't see uniform, they see a friend." (Georgia National Guard photo by Staff Sgt Tracy J Smith)
