The California Army National Guard’s 1st Lt. Zachary Ota and 2nd Lt. Clara Lemus of the 1040th Quartermaster Company, 340th Brigade Support Battalion, 115th Regional Support Group, load food boxes into a vehicle Aug. 3, 2020, at the Merced County Food Bank in Merced, California. The 1040th’s officers, noncommissioned officers and junior enlisted Soldiers have been diligently working together to support Merced’s main food bank distribute food as well as pack and prepare boxes since Cal Guard supported food banks in late March.
