The initial blast of the thermite hand grenades placed in the turret, engine, transmission, and barrel of the T55 Russian tank are being ignited, all at once, by remote using a hand held blasting machine used by the Explosive Ordnance Detachment team on Camp Dobol, Bosnia, during Operation JOINT GUARD. On December 20, 1996, the Implementation Force (IFOR) mission came a conclusion and the 1ST Infantry Division was selected continue serving in Bosnia as part of the new Stabilization Force (SFOR).
