The People’s Republic of China, People’s Liberation Army (Navy) hospital ship Peace Ark (T-AH 866) transits the Pacific Ocean during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014. This year marks the first year hospital ships have participated in RIMPAC. Twenty-two nations, 49 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1, in and around the California coast and Hawaiian Islands. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
