“The understanding of the language barrier and the patience the people have here is amazing,” said Staff Sgt. I never thought I would be eating this good and everyone wants to talk and is super friendly – regardless of how much English they may know.” Melrose and other members of the 851st Vertical Engineer Company out of Camp Ripley, Minn., along side members of the Croatian Army, Armored Mechanized Brigade will rebuild and renovate a village community center during a U.S. European Command Humanitarian Civic Assistance Project in eastern Croatia.
