This is Lillydale Campground on the shores of Dale
Summary
This is Lillydale Campground on the shores of Dale Hollow Lake. Operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, this favorite camping destination once featured plush loblolly pine trees. In 2001, an army of southern pine beetles infested 1,200 mature loblolly pines and the Corps had to close the campground for the 2002 recreation season, remove the trees, restore the campsite, and plant native hardwoods. Ten years later the campground has wide-open views of the lake and the hardwoods are growing up to provide shade for visitors. (USACE photo by Leon Roberts)
