U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Richard Vargas, 386th Air Expeditionary Wing command chief, gives closing remarks during a 9/11 tribute ceremony at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Sept. 11, 2015. On Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked three passenger planes and carried out coordinated suicide attacks against the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., killing everyone on board the planes and nearly 3,000 people on the ground.
