U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Lucy Bent looks on as a U.S. flag is folded during her retirement ceremony, May 18, 2018 at the Heritage Center on Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Bent joined the U.S. Air Force in March 1997 under the delayed enlistment program while still in high school and left for basic training later that year in December. After three assignments and two deployments, she was stationed at Travis AFB in 2006 where she has been an integral part of the mission of the base until retiring as the 60th Air Mobility Wing Director of Staff's Enlisted Executive Officer.
