U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Luis Sanchez, Services Specialist, 108th Services Flight, New Jersey Air National Guard, loads food serving pans on to a cart at Veterans Haven North, Glen Gardner, N.J., April 30, 2020. Three New Jersey National Guard Airmen and five Soldiers are assisting the kitchen staff, which is responsible for preparing 2,400 meals a day for both the Haven’s residents, as well as the residents at the Hunterdon Developmental Center. Veterans Haven North, which is operated by the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, is a transitional housing facility for homeless veterans that provides its residents long-term rehabilitation services and employment training. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
