US Army Garrison Italy Commander Col. Erik Berdy presents a garrison plaque to Grisignano, Italy, Mayor Renzo Lott at the annual festival “Antica Fiera del Soco”. Each year since the terrorist attacks in America on Sept. 11, 2001, the Italian town of Grisignano di Zocco has invited the garrison commander of USAG Italy to be a guest of honor at their annual festival “Antica Fiera del Soco” as a sign of solidarity and friendship. The origins of Antica Fiera del Soco, the largest American-style-county-fair in Italy’s Veneto-region dates to the middle ages and attracts hundreds of thousands of people each year.
