U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Jeff Mason, assigned to the New York Army National Guard Medical Command participates in a grueling 12-mile forced march during the New York Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition at Camp Smith Training Site April 2, 2017. The Best Warrior competitors represent each of New York's brigades after winning competitions at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. At the state level they are tested on their physical fitness, military knowledge, endurance, marksmanship, and land navigation skills.
