U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Joseph Cole, a financial management resource analyst with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, participates in Security Augmentation Force certification training on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 5, 2021. SAF certification requires mastery of key skills to include proper employment of detainee handling procedures and non-lethal weapons tactics directly after contact with oleoresin capsicum, or “OC,” spray. The SAF is comprised of Marines from across III Marine Expeditionary Force and bolsters base security capabilities and operations. Cole is a native of Nashville, Tennessee.
