US Navy Aviation Ordnancemen (AO) load AIM-7 Sparrow medium range, radar guided air to air missiles on an F/A-18 Hornet assigned to Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5). The convetional aircraft carrier USS INDEPENDENCE (CV 62) and CVW-5 have taken up station in the Persian Gulf to relieve the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ (CVN 68).
