US Navy ENSIGN Tom Kuruc, smiles after he and other students completed the first of two "dunkers". Once the trainee is strapped into the "dunker," the cage slams into the water, rolls down the track and holds the student upside down. If the student moves too soon, the roll is nixed, and the student has to try again. This image was used in the May 2000 AIRMAN Magazine article "Earning Wings of Silver & Gold"
