U.S. Rep. Candice Miller receives the G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Eagle Award from Maj. Gen. Gregory J. Vadnais, adjutant general of Michigan and Chief Master Sgt. The award is presented by the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States each year to one member of the U.S. Senate or U.S. House of Representatives “for outstanding and exceptional service to the National Guard” and “for advancing the interests of enlisted soldiers and airmen of the U.S. National Guard.” Selfridge, home to approximately 3,000 members of the National Guard and Reserve forces, is located in Miller’s district.
