NEW YORK, New York (Nov. 8, 2002)--Senior Chief Chris Weiller, of Coast Guard Activites New York, visits with 77-year old U.S. Army World War II Veteran Murray Gilman at the 23rd Street Veterans Medical Center. Military members from the Coast Guard and Navy visited hospitalized veterans, along with 30 students from Queens District 28, delivering Veterans Day cards in support of Operation "Thank a Veteran." The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
