Summary

Veterans from the American Legion Stewart Hoover Post 23 honor Guard salute during taps at Patriot Field. Idaho Governor Brad Little and Idaho National Guard Commander Maj. Gen. Michael Garshak joined the community of Blackfoot, Idaho in the unveiling and dedication of a statue at Bingham County Patriot Field to begin the Memorial Day Weekend rememberence. Patriot Field Memorial Park was built and dedicated in 2016. The nearly two acre park with nine flag poles, walking paths and memorial wall is a tribute to the veterans of Bingham County. The park is located in Blackfoot, Idaho. Patriot Field was created to be a place of reflection, an inspiration for freedom, and a legacy for future generations.The Patriot Field Honor Project honors Idaho Veteran's who have served in the military.

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. The Defense Visual Information Distribution Service provides a connection between world media and the American military personnel serving at home and abroad. All of these materials are preserved because they are important to the workings of Government, have long-term research worth, or provide information of value to citizens.
