Villagers await treatment outside consulting areas set up in a field station of the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing's Flying Ambulance Surgical Team (FAST). Team members are administering treatment as part of a MEDFLAG exercise, a project of the U.S. European Command. Personnel from the command conduct three MEDFLAGs annually, in conjunction with medical personnel of various African countries. The program emphasizes security and medical training while providing humanitarian/civic assistance to the host country
