Woodworkers Earl Teer (foreground) and Robert Denyer (background) measure cutaways for protective wooden walls with access doors to cover surgical cuts in a B-52H Stratofortress. Analysis shows that the B-52H's life span can be extended beyond the year 2045, possibly makind the aircraft the first "century" weapons system. To do that, parts and substructures from B-53G's are needed for the H Models. This image was used in the April 2000 AIRMAN Magazine article "Phoenix Rising."
