An aerial view of Bldg. 1535, occupied by HQ SAC until Feb. 1948, when the Military Air Trans. Service, later to become the Military Airlift Command, moved in. The Research and Development Command, later to become the Air Research and Development Command, replaced MATS in Jan. 1951. On April 1, 1961 the ARDC became the Air Force Systems Command (AFSC)
