An, a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, risked his life by flying his CH-34 Sikorsky helicopter into the path of a UH-1H helicopter to force it to abort an unsafe landing on a field, sabotaged by the enemy, and then shepherded the crippled helicopter to a safe haven.
