Cherokee, N.C., March 15, 2013 -- Annette Wright, a FEMA Region IV Procurement officer, conducts a one on one workshop for potential federal contractors at the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians (EBCI) tribal office. Contractors interested in applying for federal contracts must use the System for Award Management System (SAM) website to register as contractors so that they may be eligible for contract work.  Jesse Zimmerman a FEMA Videographer is documenting the workshop. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
