In the afternoon of the 21st of April, 1996, in the small town of Visoko, Bosnia, Lieutenant Colonel Weigold, a German Army Engineer, speaks to an audience of soldiers and media of all nationalities concerning the opening of the Visoko Bridge that is behind him. The Visoko Bridge was rebuilt by German and Romanian Army Engineers during the months of March and April, 1996. Before the rebuilding of the bridge, the surrounding area had to be cleared of mines that were laid after its destruction. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
