Paul Rogers has given Vance Air Force Base troops "high and tight" haircuts at his four-chair barbershop for 32 years. "Enid depends on Vance for much of its livelihood. If we lost Vance, this town would be worse off than when the oil business went bust in the 1980's," he said. This image was used in the May 2000 AIRMAN magazine article "Give Vance a Chance". The article is meant to promote a tour at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma, as a friendly, family raising type utopia for young Airmen. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
