Joplin, Mo., May 22, 2013 -- DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano (left) presents a medal and framed award to Jane Cage and the citizens of Joplin in honor of the resiliency they have shown in their recovery following a devastating 2011 tornado.  DHS' Rick Rescorla National Award for Resiliency, honors Rick Rescorla who died on 9/11 while helping to save scores of colleagues at Morgan Stanley in one of the World Trade Center towers. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
