Oklahoma Army National Guard (OKARNG) SPECIALIST Fourth Class (SPC) Dawn Taylor (left) and OKARNG SPC Jodie Tanquary, Truck Drivers, A Company, 700th Support Battalion, OKARNG, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (OK). They activated with over 2,000 other Soldiers from the 45th Infantry Brigade (INF BDE) to assist in the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. The New Orleans community overwhelmed the troops with an outpouring of support. Local businesses donated food and services to the Soldiers while they helped restore the city. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
