The vessel called RECIFE was boarded and seized in international waters off the coast of Columbia by a U.S. Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team, assigned aboard the nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser USS MISSISSIPPI (CGN-40). The vessel was seized after 30 tons of marijuana were found aboard. This operation is part of the President's commitment to strengthen drug interdiction at sea prior to arrival in the United States

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
