Members of the US Air Force and Army fill Tri-Wall Aerial Delivery System (TRIADS) with Humanitarian Daily Rations (HDRs). US Air Force C-17A Globemaster IIIs delivered HDRs in support of ENDURING FREEDOM from Germany to Afghan refugees who have massed inside the borders of Afghanistan. Eighty-four TRIAD boxes, each measuring 80 inches tall and 48 by 48 inches square, filled with 420 HDRs will be loaded onto a C-17A Globemaster III. In a three way first the C-17A will deliver the first operational TRIAD delivery, it will be its first combat airdrop mission and this is the first of its kind, high altitude airdrop for HDRs

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt. NARA keeps those Federal records that are judged to have continuing value—about 2 to 5 percent of those generated in any given year.
