The Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department lent their station house as a Disaster Recovery Center, to help those they serve in their community as well as others in the Bronx that would make their way to the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center for assistance.  The station house also served as warm place of refuge for Community Relations teams walking out in the elements to ensure that the residents of the Bronx knew how to register for FEMA assistance and where to go for help

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
