United States Army Special Forces from 3rd Special Forces Group, 1ST Battalion, out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, provide security for Fire Fighter personnel from the 86th Civil Engineering Squadron, out of Ramstein Air Base, Germany, while they fill a fire truck at the Firestone plant located outside Roberts International Airport in Liberia. The Fire Fighters are there in case of any aircraft emergencies, during Operation ASSURED LIFT. ASSURED LIFT is a Joint Task Force Operation to provide airlift and other logistical support to West African states that are deploying more than 600 troops to Liberia as part of the region's ongoing peacekeeping mission
