Day and AIRMAN First Class Raymond Ashcraft, 176 Security Forces Squadron, Alaska Air National Guard, retire the flags during a formal retreat performed by the students of the 176 Wing's 3rd annual Satellite NCO Academy. The Satelite Academy consists of four months of training two nights a week, except the last two weeks which are eight hours a day and taught by an instructor from the Air National Guard Training and Education Center from McGee-Tyson. Students receive in-resident credit for the NCO Academy, but get the advantage of staying at home, and reducing costs to the Air National Guard. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
