Torrance County, NM, 05/06/2008 -- Jack Daniels, an Individual Assistance Officer from FEMA Region 6, marks a home as destroyed by the Trigo Fire that struck the Sherwood Forest subdivision in Torrance County during the week of April 28 - May 3, 2008. Daniels, representing FEMA, is part of a Preliminary Damage Assessment Team comprised of representatives from Torrance County, the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, State of New Mexico, and the U.S. Small Business Administration that conducted a survey of the damages on May 6th. [Severe Storms and Tornadoes] Marmaduke, Ar., April 8, 2006 -- One of many damaged homes (90 percent of all residences in this community of 1100 residents had damages)that was impacted by a tornado on April 2nd was completely moved off its foundation and pushed into the side yard. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
