Holding tightly his mask and buoyancy vest, a student from the Navy Rescue Swimmer School leaps into the bay from an SH-3H Sea King helicopter of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 16 (HC-16).  The students make two helicopter jumps and several practice rescues on the day before they graduate from the school after nearly four weeks of training.  Those studentsthat graduate will become certified search and rescue swimmers

The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
