Hurricane/Tropical Storm - New Orleans, La. , Jan. 7, 2012 -- Jefferson Parish President, John Young and Councilwomen, Cynthia Lee-Sheng cut the ribbon at the Lake Shore Library grand opening ceremony. Acting LRO Executive Director Joseph Threat and LRO Public Assistance Task Lead Dwight Butler, were among the many public officials in attendance.  FEMA provided $3. 2 million for the library's replacement. The library includes over 30,000 books, 23 public computers plus 5 laptops, individual and small group study rooms as well as children's play areas equipped with Wii and PlayStation 3 gaming systems.
