The 37-inch cyclotron accelerated deuterons to 8 MeV and alpha particles to 16 MeV. It was also used to create radio isotopes and the first artificial element, technetium. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
