Polk, Louisiana, marshals a CH-53 Chinook with an Avenger unit slung underneath as it approaches the insertion point at Condron Army Air Field. The Avenger unit is a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) with a turret mounted Stinger launcher module. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service.
